Chevy turns 100

This Thursday Chevrolet will celebrate it's 100th birthday. The car maker has recently run ads on TV celebrating their 100th anniversary.

The company was founded by Swiss racer Louis Chevrolet and ousted General Motors exec William Durant in 1911. Initially producing larger cars, the company would eventually compete with Ford's Model T with the Chevy 490. The company has produced legendary cars like the Corvette, Surburban, Malibu, Impala, Silverado, and now the Volt, while producing unsuccesful cars like the Corvair, which was hurt hard after Ralph Nader criticzed the car in his book "Unsafe At Any Speed" in 1965.
